Below are some frequently asked questions about how one-on-one sessions work
How does a one-time session work?
If you want to meet just once, all you have to do is show up with a draft of your essay (or no draft if you're stuck and you want help brainstorming). I'll start with providing general feedback and then we'll dive into specific revisions. I'm happy to make certain edits myself, like grammar, cutting down on words, and restructuring, but if new writing is needed I'll prompt you with specific questions to help you produce the new material yourself.
Do you work with students long-term? And do you offer packages?
Sometimes I work with a student just once, sometimes we meet every week for six months. If you think you'll want to meet regularly (i.e. once a week for three+ months), please reach out and I will put together a package price for you.
Will you write an essay for me?
No. My job is teach you how to write rather than write an essay for you. Besides being unethical, writing an essay for you would not be strategic. Admissions officers can spot a "professional" essay pretty easily. I want to help you tap into your own distinct writing style, which is much more likely to help you stand out in the admissions process.
